LED is short for light-emitting diode. An electronic semiconductor device that emits light when an electric current passes through it. They are considerably more efficient than incandescent bulbs, and rarely burn out. LEDs are used in many applications such as flat-screen video displays, and increasingly as general sources of light. What is voltage stabilisation? On boats, voltage changes. When your batteries are low, they will be at about 11.8 volts (or 23.6 in a 24v system). When they are being charged, the voltage will be around 14 volts (or 28 on a 24v system). LEDs are very resilient, but the one thing they can’t handle is higher voltage than their rated capacity.
