Navigation Lights

Every vessel must display navigation lights between sunset and sunrise as follows:

Vessels 50 metres and greater in length (nm = nautical mile )
Masthead light: 6 nm, Sidelights: 3 nm, Sternlight: 3 nm

Vessels 20 – 50m
Masthead: 5nm, Sidelights: 2nm, Stern light: 2nm

Vessels 12 – 20m
Masthead light: 3 nm, Sternlight: 2nm

Vessels less than 12m
Masthead: 2nm, Sternlight 2nm or alternatively display all-round white light
(instead of masthead light and sternlight) + Sidelights: 1nm
